Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Last updated: June 2026

Short version: We collect only what we need to run our business and respond to you. We do not sell your data. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

01

Who we are

This website is operated by Rae McDowell, trading as Rae McDowell AI Automation Consultancy, based in Ireland. We provide AI automation services to Irish SMEs and founders.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@raemcdowell.co.

02

What data we collect

We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it to us — specifically when you submit an application form or send us a message. This may include:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your business name, location, and website
  • Information about your business and challenges, as described in your application
  • How you heard about us

We do not collect any sensitive personal data (such as financial details, health information, or identity documents).

03

How we use your data

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Review and respond to your application or enquiry
  • Schedule and conduct your free Assessment Call
  • Communicate with you about a potential or ongoing engagement
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or marketing without your explicit consent.

04

Legal basis for processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis for processing your personal data is:

  • Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can work together
  • Contractual necessity — once an engagement begins, to fulfil our obligations to you
  • Legal obligation — where required by Irish or EU law

05

Third-party services

Your form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form handling service. Web3Forms receives your submitted data solely to deliver it to our inbox and does not retain or use it for any other purpose. You can review their privacy policy at web3forms.com/privacy.

This site uses Google Fonts, which may load font files from Google's servers. This is a standard web practice; please refer to Google's privacy policy for details on any data collected in this process.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking or advertising technology.

06

Cookies

This site uses only strictly necessary cookies — specifically a single cookie to remember that you have acknowledged our cookie notice. No tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies are set.

You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings, though this will not affect your ability to use this website.

07

Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. If you apply but we do not proceed to an engagement, we will delete your data within 12 months. If an engagement takes place, we retain relevant records for up to 6 years in line with standard Irish business obligations.

08

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@raemcdowell.co. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland at dataprotection.ie.

09

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data transmitted via our contact and application forms is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of this website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
